Or would it increase it?

Let's say the SCOTUS declared prostitution legal because "her body, her choice" (or his body for all you playas).

Would sex trafficking in the US increase or decrease?

How bad is sex trafficking in places like Amsterdam and other places where it's legal?

Does making it illegal keep it from happening?

I'd say it would get worse. Legalizing it would only lead to increase demand "pay for sex", thus where do the pimps find their "supply"?

It will only be legal if the government can figure out how to tax it.

I don’t think so, and it wouldn’t be beneficial for the children that are forced into it.

I see it as if it's legal, you would get a boom in brothals, reducing the street walkers, which are the ones who need pimps, thus lowering pimps needs for trafficking.

Depends on how overregulated it would be.

There are already robots.

The day will come when robots do it better than the girl next door.

It would not effect it

If it's legalised u know that escorts would be regulated and have to pass drug tests

I don't know one escort that can pass a drug test

That's the whole point of going to buy drugs

Thought I read a study that showed it drastically increased human trafficking.

You have to think it's easier to hide illegal trafficking among a swath of legal human prostitution.

Great, more government taxes and regulation agencies. That's what we need.

I'm not sure what my answer is yet, I'm still thinking about it. But what I would like to know is how did you arbitrarily invent them having to pass drug tests in this hypothetical question?

Depends on your definition of trafficking and exploitation. Legal prostitution would increase demand and that demand would have to be filled by women willing to sell their "skills" at a price they find agreeable.

Cruise lines and Disney face a similar problem. Finding enough employees with certain skill sets often requires recruiting and transporting workers from around the world who are forced/willing to do certain jobs for certain pay.

Where are you getting this from? Please explain. I bet on sports. My friend does not bet on sports. They have now legalized sports betting in nearby Mississippi. I still bet on sports. My friend still does not bet on sports.

Has betting on sports increased or decreased in Mississippi since it became legalized?

My thought is this.... How are these trafficked individuals getting in to the country? Every city in the US with 100k or more population has Asian massage parlors which are supposed to be the main spot these people are being abused. How are they getting here? Who is letting them in? I have a hard time believing they are sneaking in. They have to be taking advantage of the visa system some kind of way.

How many men would pay for a prostitute if it were made legal? I would guess that the removal of the fear of getting arrested would lead to a lot more men paying for sex.

Betting on sports and having sex are not a good comparison.

I think if you look at countries that have legal prostitution you probably find your answer. Sex trafficking is supposed to be awful in Thailand. What's it like in the Netherlands?
