OweO, what kind of monkey do you have?

I want to buy it. Let me know how much. If he can feed me, not throw shite, and wipe my arse, I'll buy it.

TIA

Definitely not a poor, but any engineer with a work ethic can end up there in 5 to 10 years (not anyone, but a smart person with drive and the right foot in the door). Not anyone can get accepted to have the responsibility of an astronaut.

Even with an edit, this is the best you could do to get your point across?

Anybody familiar with the arduous process of being an astronaut would be impressed because it is probably harder than anything but since they don't do flashy missions any more that might not have as much zing to the run of th mill uninformed person. They even mentioned how routine people were treating it in the Apollo 13 movie.

Lots of run of the mill people such as bimbos would probably be more impressed by a pro athlete.

If you say fighter pilot would be cool to be a Blue Angel or T-Bird because that is very selective too.

I doubt a navy seal has ever been in space, but many fighter pilots have. Just sayin.

Christopher John "Chris" Cassidy is both a Navy SEAL and astronaut, he completed several tours as a SEAL, and served as a mission specialist aboard the space shuttle, and flight engineer on the ISS

Donald Lee Holmquest is actually a Engineer, M.D.,Ph.D., lawyer. and astronaut.

The interesting thing is he is not unique among the astronaut corps. The first criteria for being selected as a astronaut candidate is being an over achiever. Being a military pilot or flight officer, with a M.D., PhD. and some type of engineering degree is common.

It's been 5-6 years, he's a former CO by now and probably has a star.

I met him on the DC metro, he was in uniform and carrying a notebook with the Dallas logo on top. I noticed he was wearing eagles, drew the obvious conclusion and started a conversation. At the time he was the off-rotation CO.

No... they sent a fricking chimp into space. Infinitely more impressed by those who send up astronauts than the astronauts themselves. No amount of astronauts were gonna figure out translunar injection nor design a 2 stage rocket engine for it.
