That’s not what I said at all. The thing I DID do was piss off this generation that is way more pampered than generations from the past who did not have the tools and devices that they have today.

People's loved ones losing jobs and wealth is not good for American society

But a deep depression?
This is what I keep going back to.

I mean, I smell what you're stepping in, but a deep depression? Who of us has even experienced such?

Maximum suckage in every conceivable way.

See, that's the thing when talking about shite like this. Most people truly believe they are a "they" and not a "them".

It would be a very long time horizon for it to possibly be a good thing. Most of us would likely not see the upside in our lifetime if there even is one

It's happening, it's a slow fade buddy.
China is on a terror with its tech and development of all things that mean shite. It was and still part of there 50 year plan to destabilize us from the inside out without ever firing a shot.

Unless you are super old and lived in the 1930s, you’ve known nothing but general prosperity and wealth over the course of your life in the US with a few speed bumps in between. Don’t act like your “generation” is all tough and hardened lol

This generation would not survive a depression. No devices to play on. They would be forced to depend on themselves instead of high tech doing all the work. The suicide rate would go through the roof. And crime would be at an all time high. It would get really ugly. Just think of what New Orleans was like the first couple months after Katrina. And add two or three years of it all over the country.

If by this generation you mean all humans alive right now, sure.

You know who, anecdotally, are the worst with their phones? Those aged 60+ who don't know how to moderate their usage.

As far as surviving a depression, leaving literal kids out of it, this the order in which generations would handle it the best:

1. X
2. Millennials
3. Gen Z
4. Boomers

You’re assuming the Great Depression was a good thing in the long run too? Given FDR-era programs that rapidly expanded government are still around and hemorrhaging the budget, I’m not so sure.

No bc the dipshits would think it was Trumps fault instead of their lifetime full of poor decisions.

Pretty stupid and arrogant to wish for hardship on people.

There were some positives. Many people became frugal and conserving resources.

We live in decadent times, a little reality wouldnt hurt some people. Todays mass consumerism needs some kind of balance and only hardship will slow it.

No we don't need a deep depression.

Yes we need to decouple ourselves from single use items and cheap trinkets made by borderline if not actual slave labor. I'm not sure shotgun, and at times, nonsensical tariffs are how we do that, but I'm not going to cry over finally dealing with the China problem.

No. It would just make more people dependent on the government
