Worst way to die?

Like most I used to always think burned alive or drowning.
Though listening to Rogan podcasts I came across the true worst way.
Simply being eaten. Besides the pain, it's that your entire life and everything you have ever done has been wiped out. Simply so you could satisfy a lower animal for a few hours.

Being lower on the food chain wouldn't be great. Worst way to die, ask the Romans, Cartel or Mafia

Scaphism
/thread
quote:
the intended victim was stripped naked and then firmly fastened within the interior space of two narrow rowing boats (or hollowed-out tree trunks) joined together one on top of the other with the head, hands and feet protruding. The condemned was forced to ingest milk and honey, and more honey would be poured on the victim to attract insects, with special attention devoted to the eyes, ears, mouth, face, genitals, and anus. In some cases, the executioner would mix milk and honey and pour that mixture all over the victim. The victim would then be left to float on a stagnant pond or be exposed to the sun. The defenseless individual's feces accumulated within the container, attracting more insects which would eat and breed within the victim's exposed flesh, which—pursuant to interruption of the blood supply by burrowing insects—became increasingly gangrenous. The individual would lie naked, covered from head to toe in milk, honey, and his own feces. The feeding would be repeated each day in some cases to prolong the torture, so that fatal dehydration or starvation did not occur. Death, when it eventually occurred, was probably due to a combination of dehydration, starvation, and septic shock. Delirium would typically set in after a few days.[1]

There are quite a few awful ways in history to die.
Read about some of the torture stuff that was done.
I would have to say being put in the bronze bull would be pretty terrible. Or being keel hailed as a sailor in the 17th century would not be very fun either.

The guy that was trapped in the giant pressure cooker at the tuna factory was pretty horrible.

(NEWSER) – Felony charges have been filed more than two years after the horrific death of a worker at a California tuna plant. Bumble Bee Foods and two of its employees have been charged with willfully violating safety rules in the death of 62-year-old Jose Melena, who was cooked to death inside an industrial oven at the company's Santa Fe Springs plant, the Los Angeles Times reports. Prosecutors say that workers unaware Melena was making repairs inside the pressurized steam cooker loaded 12,000 pounds of tuna into it and turned it on, CBS Los Angeles reports. Melena cooked to death and a colleague discovered his charred remains

in a nursing home with substandard care, whittling away malnourished, covered in your own feces and urine.

I'd say anyway you died slowly while suffering to some type of degree.

I learned about the Blood Eagle watching Vikings.
Apparently, if you cry out at all, you bring shame to your family and are not permitted into Valhalla.
quote:
The blood eagle is a ritualized method of execution, detailed in late skaldic poetry. According to the two instances mentioned in the Sagas, the victims (in both cases members of royal families) were placed in a prone position, their ribs severed from the spine with a sharp tool, and their lungs pulled through the opening to create a pair of “wings”. There is continuing debate about whether the ritual was a literary invention, a mistranslation of the original texts, or an authentic historical practice.

That's a tender subject

Pretty sure Jessica Chambers from north Mississippi died the worst way possible. Doused with gasoline, even being poured down the throat. Then put on fire and still living at the hospital before trying to whisper who did it to her. That’s pretty rough.
