Having wide deltoids and tall traps gives you the illusion of looking bigger than you actually are.

Rack pulls

Love doing these with a 45 lbs plate on my chest and having everyone at the gym looking at me like I'm fricking nuts.

Do that many of you actually only work your legs one day a week?

I've always done full-body, Starting Strength type stuff.

Maybe if you didn't absolutely destroy your legs on a single day, and spread the pain over 2-3 days, you'd find the workout more bearable.

Just my opinion.

Rack pulls are deadlifts from a power rack that allow you to limit the range of motion.

You are on the right track. It is awful hard to get strong legs squatting only once per week. I think they would die if they ever tried Smolov.

I don't have a squat rack at home, can someone recommend some leg exercises that don't require throwing heavy weight on my shoulders? I do hack squats currently.

Shoulder day is the worst because I get serious bursa impingement from lateral movements & overhead pressing
was having some issues, began doing the crossover symmetry program an the iron scap programs every day...that and forgoing pullups for ring rows for a month has really calmed it down. Good luck.

You can look up the programs, you just need some bands.

F'ing this!

I have been using Crossover Symmetry for about 2 months and it has nearly eliminated my previous shoulder issues. FYI, lots of college sports programs use it, including LSU baseball.

Where do you do hack squats? Stand with your back to the wall and squat and hold your legs at 90 degrees as long as you can. Buy some bands and do different leg movements with them around your ankles. You won't build massive legs with a workout like that but it is better than nothing.

Most people on here don't even squat once a week, which blows my mind. I am doing a starting strength right now after taking some time off and the 3 day a week squats are starting to make me hate life. I couldn't imagine doing smolov.

I'm an idiot. I read "Rack Chins," not "Rack Pulls."

I typed the wrong name of the exercise. My workout app has it as rack delivery.

I'm in the vast minority here, but leg day is my favorite

I hate leg day, that's why it's the first workout of the week. I do like the way I feel afterwards - totally expended with a sense of accomplishment.
