Working my first night shift tonight

Only have 5 more hours to go, but damn this sucks. Only reason I'm here right now is because the guy who was supposed to work tonight couldn't make it. Came in this morning and they sent me home and told me to come back tonight. That's not enough notice to get my sleep schedule ready to take this on. Tryin to become an OT baller though so guess I have to suck it up

You will be ok. But when you do go to sleep you will probably sleep until it's time to go back to work.

Did my best to sleep before coming in but only slept from 7 til 11 this morning. Woke up at 3:30 ready to come in and got hit with the night shift news. I've only been on days thus far but I may as well tell my boss to just put me on the regular day/night rotation now

lol, i work nightshifts a couple of times a month. From 4-9. That being said, I have a couple of times this upcoming month where I'll be actively working 18 hours straight.
