First make sure you actually need steel toe, I did not working on road construction sites as an inspector and program manager. Second, I recommend Red Wing Brazos. They are easy on/off bc slip on and they look good enough to wear in the office, to meetings, etc. if you need to dress it up beyond that (can't imagine you would honestly) you can take them off and put on cowboy boots.

I've had a pair of lace up steel toed shoes from Doc Martin for years. Very comfortable. Don't go cheap with steel toed boots or you will regret it. The company I use to work for would give us a free pair every six months and I got some really uncomfortable boots at times by picking the wrong ones.

My Red Wing American made steel toed loggers were around $400 IIRC. They lasted a few thousand miles, and are now fricked because I brought them to the only cobbler in the area. Turns out, they fricking suck.

Their logging boots are the only ones worth a damn. I had a couple pairs of waterproof slip-ons that the leather cracked within a month. Ended up getting a full refund and bought Justin's.
