Me personally?

For when I take my feet off of my desk. I have a rolly chair and it might run over my toes.

Those DM Industrial are comfortable but will last about 5 mins in the field under use. I went through 3 pairs in 2 years.

I went through a pair of Ariat, then Bates. Spent a little money and bought a pair of Danner composite toe lace ups. Two years in the field of hard use and about 6-10 miles a day walking and they are still in worn but good shape. No splitting seams or worn treads. I find lace ups are more comfortable especially when on my feet all day because they give more support. Seriously highly recommended.

Whatever you do, Spend a little more than you want to. Your feet will thank you.

I have waterproof 12" lace-ups and know I do more physical work than you day in and day out. No problems with sweat here

They do weigh a little under 4 pounds a piece though. Nancies need not apply

Maybe the Red Wing salesman at the stores don't know their own product line. I asked several times if they had American made composite lace up work boots and the only response I got was "no". How much were the US made shoes? The Chinese ones were about $200. I got a 10% discount for showing my union dues reciept. Believe me, I would have bought Minnesota/US made shoes if given the option.

I've been wearing these Double H boots for the past 6 years. Only on my second pair so they last and are very comfortable.

the best thing to do is go to a red wing store, then an American worker type store. Spend hours if needed trying on all the boots. Everyone's feet are different and every cut of boot is different.

You need to find one that works best for you. But like others have said, don't be cheap. Most good boots will be around $200+. I hated redwing, love my ariats, and the most comfortable boots I've worn were wolverines. They just fell apart after 6 months.

You LA folks need to shop at spots besides academy.

Best boots I've ever owned are Keen composite toes. Well worth the extra cash. But if you are trying to stay under $100, timberlands are comfortable,

I have a pair of Justin's just like those and they hurt my feet , but even tha ariats give me problems .
Not saying any of them are bad products , I think you gave to go with what is comfortable to you ..

For me it's wolverine , even though I find they are not making the wolverines with the same quality as they did a few years back to me for my foot they are the most comfortable.....

To anyone recommending doc martins imp that is the worst pair of work boots to own , the don't last very long and it feels like you're wearing bricks on your feet

I just looked at the redwing website and the composite toe boots are "made in USA with imported materials"

I've never owned a pair that said that. I'm sure they're decent though.

ETA: the normal made in USA boots cost about twice as much as their China counterparts.
