It wasn't the city that was negligent. It wasn't the city that was building this. How is the city supposed to get those remains without risking others ? I'm a small government conservative but it's ridiculous to blame the city. I know one thing, because of the bad publicity and inconvenience that the city is suffering and because people were killed, I would immediately seize all property from the owners and it would belong to the city. THat's after the private entities clean it up and pay for it. and maybe put people in prison that were negligent.

Not sure why people disagree with this, but I agree with this. I am not usually for government getting involved, but this has been an absolute disgrace.

For $175,000, I could be lowered from a helicopter in a rescue basket, with a battery powered sawzall, and I could get those legs out of the public view.

Tell them to contact me here. I'll donate 10% to a frequently advertised recovery program.

Kinda like President Bush caused all the Katrina deaths and damage because Ray "Chocolate City" Nagin did NOTHING in spite of days of warning?

As another person mentioned, 30 years ago someone would have found a way to get this body down out of respect for him, no matter the cost.

No, they wouldn't have. They could possibly cut his legs off and out of view using a helo or something, but no one is "recovering" his entire remains until complete demolition. Even then, you put a live human at risk of death, it's too unstable. Move any of that rubble and you create a massive avalanche of debris.

To many government yahoos worried about regulations, safety, endangering the lives of others, etc. If that was an ironworker I can assure you his body would have been recovered by now. They face dangers like that erecting iron for buildings, bridges, etc. everyday. Our Governor should contact Ironworkers Local #58 in New Orleans or #623 in Baton Rouge and tell them to go get that man's body out.

Nice joke dude. Hope one of your family members never has to experience this. That man's body has been in that rubble since October 13, 2019. OVER 3 Months!

Well, the government of NYC, the government of the State of New York, and the government of the United States didn't blow up the WTC (unless you're a "truther" nut), but they were at the center of cleaning it up.

I just don't understand how people are blaming the city for this. The city is there to do an overall sign-off on plans, not check every calculation and design. the city isn't there every single day checking every single piece of concrete and structure.

This is completely on the bozo general contractor and owners of the project, whom I'm starting to feel may be deserving of a perp walk.

You don't know me, bitch-boy. Not joking. Arrange it, then sit back in your hammock chair, drink your tepid tea and watch a Man get things done.

I hate anyone's family has to go through this. Pussy.
