This will be our first time going and wanted to know which day is better to go with kids. We have an event to go to Sat from 10-12 but figured we would go to the festival after. Or would it be better to just go on Sunday instead? We go to St Anselm for 730 on Sun so maybe it would be better to walk over after church?

Also what are some recommendations for parking out there? Also is it recommended to bring chairs? Thanks in advance for thr help.

Definitely go on Sunday as that is when they have the quick and dirty boating building race. If you want to go listen to music I would definitely bring chairs. Parking is never too bad but if it is you might want to park on the other side of the river. Have fun!

I live in Madisonville and would say Sunday would be better for you, since you will already be parked close for mass.

Thanks for the reply. We probably wont be stopping to listen to music but who knows. We have a 6 and 4 yr old and mainly wanted to bring them to the kids area and rides. They love walking along the river to watch the boats pass so I figured this might be a fun event for them.

I have a 4 yo, she loves it. The rides are perfect for that age group.

Im being told that Sun could be a better day since they have the parade. How far up the road is the rides and childrens village from the parade? My wife is 7.5 months pregnant so we may just have to stay by the kids area if too far.

The rides are closer to the library, bout a 10 minute walk from the 4 way stop.

Where can you park your boat if coming by water?

Great time. I've participated in the quick and dirty a few years back. Good times. I posted up at riverside bar on Saturday night and got shite house drunk.

Most likely will have to drop anchor and take a dinghy, unless you have a small boat and can just sneak in.

Madisonville is pretty much the opposite of trashy. It's one of the finer towns in Louisiana.
