Look, I'm all for making it hard to get certain guns, but ultimately that really won't stop anything. If the want is strong enough they will find a way. And that's the problem - It's the want - not the guns.

Too many folks treating the symptoms and not the disease. Gun Control is like taking a cough drop for strep throat. Might make you feel better for a second but does nothing to get you well.

Those murdered by Hitler wouldn't have had children who, in turn, would've had more children?

When I was in HS I'd say about a quarter of the boys had shotguns or hunting rifles in their trucks. If someone got a new gun we would go to the truck at lunch a take it out and let our friends look at it and handle it. No one ever got shot.

Also pretty much every boy I knew carried a knife. No one ever got stabbed.

I’m with you. I hate the lack of accountability we have in our country. The media uses phrases like “gun violence” like it’s some kind of disease. We don’t have a gun violence problem, we have a crime problem.

Does the number of guns in our country add to that? Yeah, probably, IMO. Blaming one without accepting the other is fantasyland.

How often does it happen there and how often does it happen hear. Check out the per capita gun related homicides in the countries ripping us off like EU countries, UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand.

I prefer dangerous freedoms over peaceful slavery. These other countries don’t have a bill of rights. We do and for good reason. Our forefathers saw what the tyranny of government was capable of against its people.

Proving my point. The left has no opposition in those countries. Everyone is the same and capitulates. Political beliefs are homogenous. The U.S. is non-homogenous in both race and politics, which is why it is doomed to fail (like acid it will erode from within). Full destruction started in the early 2000s, not coincidental that this was also the rise of cable news and social media. When the left is challenged they turn to hate, such as cancel culture. This leads to division, bullying and devolves from a society of reasonableness to irrationality.

You don't read any news, do you? You're completely uninformed.

You mean the U.S. puff pieces to satisfy political bases like MSNBC, Fox, CNN and the networks? The same ilk that sensationalizes these shootings and perpetuates them! No, I don’t partake in that nonsense. It is unsurprising to me that you do, though.

Yes, those damn liberal teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary.

I realize we are in the south and our education is looked down upon versus the elite northeast, but that was still an elementary, as far as I understand. The OP’s comment t was about universities. There is a stark difference in those two (universities and elementary schools), which you should be familiar with if you have been to both.

Many of the elementary and high school shootings in low minority, suburban wealthy areas are related to people that were bullied and whose home life was not great (see Sandy Hook where the mom was shot before the school shooting as an example). Many school shootings in urban areas with high minorities and low income are from personal disputes.

Seems like you are trying to imply it though so perhaps change tactics.

They already are. Do you think someone who is looking to kill people will suddenly change their mind seeing a sign saying "GUN FREE ZONE"? I’m sure you have noticed that people 100% obey speed limit signs.

Schools are for teaching kids math, reading, science, history, geography, languages etc. Why do we need guns for learning these things.

I’m beginning to think you are just trolling now so congrats.

Easily. There is no one or nothing to protect you. Thats all on the individual.

I also support legalization of drugs, because neither gun control or drug prohibition work. But we sure spend a shite load of money on them.

Never once has any one of my guns shot itself at somebody else or me. It requires human agency.

That deputy's gun could have been laying in the middle of the FSU common area and would have never been a danger to anyone until someone picked it up.
