I think you're on to something. There is something hot about the chicks that do it in tight jeans but I would necessarily lump it in with tramp stamp. Women who do this aren't whores but are usually good looking and seeking attention.
iPhone in the jeans back pocket is more the equivalent of hot chick in yoga pants stretching and doing bent over dumb bell rows in the free weight section of the gym.
More attention seekers than whores. It's definitely a thing though and a certain type of chick that does it.

It's because women's clothes makers do not give them pockets to speak of in the front--and also women's phones are bigger than flat screen TV's.
