Pics or it didn’t happen

The story isn’t BS. I was skeptical at first. Talked to a friend who works on the river and it’s been confirmed. Crazy part is when she made it to Algiers she evaded police. I bet she wasn’t from here, was an accomplished swimmer, and someone will eventually post a video of her stupid act

there's no way possible.
That bend is the river is one of the strongest currents throughout the entire river

Only believable part of that story is that a suspect evaded NOpD.

Swimmming the river was much more common a few generations ago.
There was a girl in her early teens that crossed the river in about the same place in the early 1900s. I think she set a record as the youngest to do it at the time.
My elderly neighbor has told me that boys used to swim across around Harahan and Avondale before WW2.

Oh yea??? kinda like those people who see aliens and space ships and big foot but always fail to get video or a picture.

Did she get into the eddy by the point?
Seems like she would be well past the point if she were able to stay afloat

I have no problem believing someone swam the river... I do have a problem with the story given the current situation with the river.

My initial though also. Several people have confirmed it. A friend that works for Coast Guard says they’re trying to keep it from the media to keep other idiots from attempting it.

Put out the word that Trump says it can't be done and watch the country get better overnight.

If it's true, ol girl needs a fricking award

I’d believe that it is swimmable for someone in shape and with skills

If she did make it, she may glow in the dark now...

Also, remember that the water is totally toxic. It's more like sludgy poison from the smoke-belching factories at the top of the river, swirled together with the pesticide and fertilizer run-off from farms in the Mississippi River watershed... it's a funky, nasty brew. That does not seem like a good idea to dunk yourself in.

What Happens to People Who Do Jump In Every year, there are a handful of foolish people who try to swim across the Mississippi River. The lucky few end up in rescue boats. Others, meanwhile, drown in the river's strong midstream current. While the pollution is a big problem, the deadliest concern here is the current. The water moves so fast that not even the most experienced swimmers would be able to make it across to the other side.

only way i can see this happening is if she got caught up in some sort of eddy that carried her back upstream at some point.
Posted on 6/10/19 at 11:34 am to LSUfanNkaty
Let’s say this is true. Its not like she swam across in 45 seconds. Why weren’t there any NOPD officers waiting for her to get out?
How did she just “walk away” without being identified?

No way in hell she swam a line like that with the current.

Jared Smith James Thibeaux she didn’t swim straight across the river she went around the point about 400 foot below the point and would not grab our life rings so the ferry at the point launched the skiff and still would not take help so the red line that they show is not Correct
