"Mental illness" is starting to become a catchall phrase to absolve responsibility, because it is a generic enough term to cover addictions and bullshite ADD claims and learning disorders ( to get that SSI).

Only a small fragment of the population is born with, or acquires through injury or disease, the sort of mental illness where a person can't tell right from wrong or reality from fantasy. Most have simply fried their brains through drug use.

I'm not commenting on this woman here, I don't know anything about her.

There is audio for this. When I first saw the story I figured the police just enter and she had the knife because she thought they were the burglars she was worried about. That wasn't the case.

The officers didn't just step inside and shoot her, they talked to her for a while before it becomes obvious that she armed herself with two knives, and she says "do it motherfricker" after which the officers give numerous warnings to back up. She was also worried authorities were going to take her kids.

I always love the whole she had mental issues nonsense. How are officers supposed to even know that?

All you folks are just proving a knife is dangerous. I know that. Rando's statement was that her having a knife was more dangerous than her having a gun. That is what I was commenting on. Think that through. Would you rather confront someone holding a knife or a Glock 19? As for the officer, if you are the police would you prefer to carry a knife or a gun?

she's that mentally unstable, why was she allowed to have all those kids?

Bc she's likely mentally unstable due to her own drug use. Most people born with a brain deformation aren't having kids.

You're missing the point, cops dont go into every situation with a gun drawn.

21ft rule is a on old cop rule.

Keep 21 feet between you and a subject because them with a knife will get you before you can draw your weapon and fire.

Look up that video in Honduras it'll open up your eyes for sure.

"The officers need to pay for what they did," said Williams. "Even if my sister had a knife in her hand, she weighs like nothing, even if she's soaking wet. There's no way you could've taken a taser and taken her down? There's no way you could've taken a baton and knocked the knife out of her hand?"

Why can't they get their standard issue Wonder Woman lasso and snatch the knife out of her hand?

Call me crazy.

This. Should Law Enforcement be held to task for any brutality and injustice? absolutely!
But at some point, people have to realize that you cannot have a weapon and point it at an LEO and not expect bad results. Comply with the officers orders and 99% of the time, things will turn out all right.

At Quantico they treat new agents that a knife is the same as a gun.

You never know who it is and what kind of training they've had.

I'm sorry but if they had to put her down it was probably warranted.
