I’d doubt thats even possible without bankrupting the krewe. We’re talking fee to ride plus throws for over half their parade. 24 of the 44 floats didn’t ride

That money is spent by the time the Krewe rolls. I would wager they don’t have it to refund even if they were inclined to do so. And no way they can offer them a free ride next year. Not that many people. Most Krewes run at or near budget and don’t keep cash in the bank. I don’t see them saying anything but “sorry” to the folks who didn’t get to ride. And knowing how women are, this is going to hurt that Krewe because bitches get pissed and hold a grudge.

They’re offering us to ride in Pandora in JP on Sunday. Masks and wigs provided for those of us who left ours. #HailNyx!

Rude. They would only have to offer something to half the people. The first half rode.

You’re mistaken about our krewe culture. It’s not ideal but it’s not holding a grudge to choose to leave an association if you’re unhappy with the management.

I had forgotten about that until now.

Wow, that option just seems obvious. Good for them!

It’s a fair offer IMO. And since they covered the mask and wig part, I’m going to do it. It’s not the same but I think it’s a sincere substitute.

Happy for you. I'm sure there was a lot of disappointment.

Have fun. Be careful.

We kept hearing different things about the throws situation after last night. Y'all were able to keep enough stuff to throw if this works out?

Can’t you be both: respectful that someone lost their life AND upset that the parade you spent thousands of dollars and a lot of time prepping for was canceled at the last second?? Not sure why this is controversial

I guess it depends how you define upset.

Of course you can be bummed that you were amped up for fun and something tragic happened but... that something tragic happened is the big deal, not your lack of fun.
