Yeah but how many actually read the story to find out that the wife is some 50s obsessed weirdo that only watches 50s shows, dresses like she is still in the 50s, and wants her house to look like it is still in the 50s?

Her kitchen isn't 50's, she's on Instagram and has a smartphone so she's not some nut that that has gone back in time.

She likes to dress like a woman from the 50's? Sounds like a plus to me. Means she isn't slopping around in sweatpants or pajamas at Wal Mart.

I'd wife someone like her up in a heartbeat.

Couldn't you say that about everyone in general though? No one should let their career be THE thing that defines their life.

To be fair reading the article, you get that she's really using it as an ad.

All those steampunk Victorian cosplayers gotta be green with envy she chose an era that's easier to market. Blue ocean, doesn't even need a convention booth.

Yep. That’s the only two options.

That is true. I found the website where she sells all the patterns for her 50s dresses.

I would totally wear 50s dresses over that steampunk weird shite.

If that's what a woman wants and the couple can live the life they want on one income more power to them.

But not every couple wants that.

I guess i agree, but stay at home moms and women who want to be stay at home moms are mocked for it, and that says a lot

Only the really annoying ones that complain about "how being a mom is the hardest job in the world" or annoy you by trying to sell you MLM crap with their #bossbabe posts on social media.

My sister in law is a SAHM. She was a teacher before she quit her job. She never complains about being a SAHM. She is loving it now but also wants to go back to teaching once my niece is school age.

nah there's definitely a stigma against SAHM (beyond the groups you described), especially in more liberal circles... see the poster i originally quoted.

being a SAHM is often mocked, as is the middle class white dad. personally i think it's a coping mechanism for those whose can't afford it themselves.

Why is your way right and 800 other peoples' way wrong?

Who are you to judge?

Who made you the moral authority on who should think a certain way (your way) and when, where, how and why?

Why should we look to an extremist like you and your extremist worldview as the "be-all-end-all" of "how to be," while everyone else is doing it wrong?

You zealot.

Others' ways are wrong, but your way is right?

Says who?

You? A literal tyrannical barbarian?

Don't judge others for their worldview and the way they are.

You bigot.
