There's a lot of bums loitering around I-10 in this area. My theory is that they follow weather patterns. I told my wife its bum season in Calcasieu right now. This, in my opinion, is a factor in her disappearance.

Hell just a few weeks ago a homeless dude from Washington burned down the condemned hotel on Cities Services the next exit up from where she was last seen.

I'm reading there was bad/rainy weather that day and there are bodies of water (canals, etc) around.

Unfortunately, I think the safe money is that she's in her vehicle, underwater. Feel like I've seen too many of these missing cases turn out like this.

CPSO said foul play suspected. There’s going to be more to this story than her car just crashed in a field somewhere

Update on this is in the kplc link I posted above.

Looks like she drove off the road in to the bayou.

Sorry for blaming bums and foul play.

Did they confirm it was her? I saw they were lifting it out but it hadn't been ID'd.

I also saw that they said she was at the Circle K in Portie town and talked to a feller in a black gladiator with lime green on it. He followed her when she left. If she went in to Bayou D'inde isn't that back towards the WAgin' Cajun?

ETA: From FB

quote:

She was last seen at the Circle A Food gas station in sulphur on the corner of North Claiborne and West Verdine st. She stopped to put air in her tire. 5:17am. A black jeep gladiator with lime green marking on the sides, passed up the gas station and then pulled into the parking lot of the gas station. A witness saw her speak to male driver of the jeep and she seems upset and frustrated. Once she left the gas station that jeep followed her south of West Verone st. The police have came to the gas station and have the footage. They also took a statement from the witness.

Mancuso said that the department is uncertain if the vehicle belongs to Stephany Fong, who was reported missing on Saturday, November 19.

Eta: damn, it was her.

Probably 30 vehicles.

We parked near the scene where police were setting up to make the recovery.

The folks that showed up seemed to know her and were convinced it was her. Knowing that they were about to be crushed convinced us that leaving was the appropriate thing to do.

Seeing how they saw her car in fron of Willis Ford my theory is that she got turned around at least once before ultimately reaching her fate.

I kind of know her. She was a waitress at the casinos. When I was playing poker heavily, she was at LDL and she was pregnant (and the kid is 5 now so time flies). We have a lot of mutual friends.

I'd hate for this to be some casino stalker, but she was leaving Waynes, which has its own population of sketchy arse men. Could also theoretically be as simple as a driving error at the unlucky spot.

*ETA: They found her body. This is sad. She was nice from what I have heard.

Sad indeed. So she drowned inside her car?

There is something about her airing up a tire near Mike Willis Ford floating around. Read something about her being north of Cypress Street too. Pretty odd path, doubles back on self and there’s a couple gas stations right by the Beglis on ramp, so why go north? She was apparently at Wagin Cajun from 10p-5a, but hate to make assumptions.

Sorry for the hijack, but I can’t imagine going on vacation in a foreign country and just leaving my child there to explore on her own.

Not saying it would have made a difference in this particular case, but a good reminder that you might want to carry a spring loaded center punch to blow out the windshield, should you end up in water.

Was Carrissi the one who got a lot of publicity at the time because she was Tyrone Power's grand daughter? Surely there couldn't be two women who walked into the river proclaiming they wanted to be "one with the river"?

.

I don't think a seat belt cutter would have mattered in this case. Mancuso said that there was a collision in which the airbags were deployed.

Her front hood was pushed in front windshield was busted and air airs were deployed. It was a tough thing to see. We went to circle a right after detectives left so we didn’t see the footage of her stopping there to air the tire but that confirmed it exists. Not sure that will be pursed now.

Tough tragic ending to this whole thing.
