When my sister graduated, she got her diploma with her cover.

They actually hand out diplomas on stage?
When I got mine from LSU they gave you the empty cover on stage and then as soon as you walked off stage you told them your name and they got the actual diploma out the big file box.

Nice try sweetheart, but there are no free lunches.
You have to earn the right to be an LSU alumnus. Entitlement will not win this time.

At LSU in the spring of 2000 when I walked on stage, I was handed my purple LSU binder with my diploma inside.
The only way you didn't get the diploma inside was if you had an outstanding fee to the university.
If that were the case, the fee bill was inside instead of your diploma.
Maybe things have changed since then.

So when you graduated, they handed them out while calling your name? That's how it was for me, but a much longer time back. If this were the case here, then everyone else after her would be getting the wrong one, right?

among companies I've worked for: Raytheon, Boeing, General Dynamics.... I've never shown my diploma or have they inquired. I'm sure some companies do check diplomas, but a ton do not.

I'm guessing they had to dust off some really old books to find that statute.

We were lined up before seating and sat according to the line up. A long line formed and they called your name as you walked up on stage. Shook some hands, handed a binder with diploma inside and at the bottom of the stage some schmuck took your picture and sent you the proof later.
I'm not sure how it works now or how she didn't disturb the line up previous to the names being announced.

They didn't when I graduated. You had to pick your diploma up from a table at the back of the PMAC after the ceremony.

Does she know that any employer will call the school to verify that she graduated from there
Nobody does this unfortunately.

If companies want to verify education they have you request a transcript from the school. I cant really imagine many people want to see the actual diploma. Thats just a ceremonial thing that you keep to remind yourself of your accomplishment. It's like a trophy.

So she can show off the physical degree in interviews, but what happens when they ask for transcripts or run a background check? I can see why she couldn’t get a degree
