Does that situation qualify as attempted 1st degree murder?

Thats another thing. If you don't want the police to mess with you then don't give them a reason to do so. I am sure if BLM gets involved you will not hear about the part where she was pulled over for not having a license plate. I don't care who you are, if you don't have a license plate, you will eventually get stopped.

Sorry

I would tweet it back to him but I kind of have a public job and I'm not in the mood to get fired today.

Yeah, it does. The story says after a standoff, an officer fired at her first. She returned fire, the rest of the officers fired back and killed her.

If the kid was hit by the initial shot, that is some shitty arse police work when you're arguing that they feared for the child's safety.

Don't let that take away from the fact that this seems to be a justified shooting, but how the kid was shot definitely matters.

You have to keep in mind we are talking about a situation that happens in seconds. Things will not always go perfect when people have to react in an instant.

Bottom line, she was driving around with no license plate and made the decision to point a gun at police officers. The police shoot her and there are people who think the police are at fault.

People can argue whether or not police followed every procedure. Even if they did not, by driving around with no license plate and pulling a gun on police, you increase your chances of being in a situation with police that will not end in your favor.

The original tweeter (?) needs to see it and so to does the guy on the first page who apparently was skeptical that anyone has ever survived an encounter with the police after brandishing a weapon.

You started this thread but apparently you're confused on the events. The license plate thing is what led to her tickets. Failure to appear for those tickets led to her bench warrant. That warrant led to the standoff and eventual shooting.

If you've had a standoff that lasted for hours, and you're the first one to make a move by shooting at the suspect because you're concerned for the child's safety, that shot cannot hit the child. We've got no clue what happened and which shot hit the kid, but it if is the first one, that's hard to explain. If the kid was caught up in the crossfire after his mother fired back, that is different, but it still matters how the kid was positioned in the entire ordeal. None of it will change whether or not the mother had it coming though.

The "first one to make a move" was the dumb bitch with the shotgun. Just because he aimed from the time she started to point it at them doesn't mean he acted first.

Is it really? She got angry and raised the gun aggressively, and cop let off a shot as a reaction. But she didn't actually shoot. Have no idea if that's what happened, but seems like there are plenty of circumstances that would perfectly explain it.

She told them, twice, she was "going to kill them" if they didn't leave.

Exactly the press and black America wont care. All these cases hitting the news is a thug attacking cops. Now if anybody recalls I can be very critical of LEO shootings but the bottom line is the vast majority are justified. What isn't justified is black community digging for straws. Pointing loaded guns, shooting at cops and attacking cops is a surefire way for a cop to shoot back and justifiably so.

I'm going off of the article and the OP which seem to imply the child was in the immediate area around his mother. IF that was the case, moving in on her or shooting her seems pretty risky.

This is one of those things where it will be more dissected because there was a standoff for hours. This wasn't the heat of the moment type situation. I believe them that the child's safety was their biggest concern, but I think it is worth asking how it went down to determine if they inadvertently endangered the child.

Also - because people will take this conversation off track - there is no excuse for the mother and she put her child in that situation in the first place, which is despicable.
