The sentence is without benefit of probation, parole or reduction of sentence. She will be carried out of prison in a pine box.

And the LCIW is no joke. She's got a miserable life in store.

Why was a wildlife agent pulling her over? Was she on a game preserve or something?

What was Rae Carruth's sentence? I know he's about to be released after serving only 18 years for having someone pregnant killed.
Sentences should be uniform across the country.

They should run back-to-back-to-back-to-back

what's the point in pleading guilty if you are going to get 60 years plus the other charges

Because she’s very possibly only going to have to serve 20. The 20 after 45 rule is in full swing, even on violent crimes, sex crimes, and habitual offender sentences. Once you’ve served 20 years of a sentence and hit 45 years of age, no matter the number of years of the sentence, you’re eligible for a parole hearing under the changes passed last year.

I know of one offender in particular who served 21 years of a 99 year habitual offender sentence for armed robbery. He paroled out because the current parole board deemed him rehabilitated. *Armed Robbery and habitual offender sentences are both supposed to be without benefit of parole*

Within weeks, he pulled at least five armed robberies, sexually assaulted a woman, killed a 10 year old child and shot a 17 year old.

But muh only affects non-violent offenders.

Lol, not even close.

Not sure about that. It’s right by a wildlife refuge (Black Bayou).

What the frick did she do to get 40 years for obstruction?

Isn't that usually a charge prosecutors throw on to coerce a plea because you threw away a cell phone?

Montezuma, first two articles are regarding his murder. Last is confirmation of an armed robbery in New Orleans. It also mentions the Jefferson Parish rape. Several other NOLA area armed robberies have since been solved as having been committed by him.

ETA: earlier I mentioned that he served 21 on 99. It was 24.

He stopped her well after midnight. Approached a stolen vehicle alone.
LDWF Agents have more power than any other LEO. No search warrant required and they can pull you over for speeding or swerving just like any other LEO.
This particular one (Wheeler) had set a record for DWI arrests or something along those lines.
Long story short: overzealous LDWF agent made a huge mistake in approaching a stolen vehicle with no backup.
I’ll get downvotes but LDWF agents in that area are known for being assholes.

Wildlife agents have jurisdiction over the entire state.
