Woman gets 60 year sentence for attempted murder of wildlife agent

Amethyst Baird, the woman who pleaded guilty to the attempted murder of wildlife agent Tyler Wheeler, was sentenced to 60 years in prison on Friday.
Baird was also sentenced to:
40 years for obstruction of justice
10 years each for 2 counts of illegal possession of stolen things
This happened in Monroe on 165 heading up towards Bastrop

What's the backstory here? All I read in the link was she shot him during a traffic stop. She had meth on her, so she shot him?

Too bad she wasn't a white male then she would have just gotten probation.

Not sure about meth, but she and a guy were driving a stolen vehicle and he pulled them over. She was in the passenger seat and ended up shooting him in the head, but he survived and has actually been back on the job for a while.

According to the Newsstar she actually got 120 years, KNOE left off the 60 years for attempted murder

If she behaves herself she will serve half to 2/3 of her sentence. So, she can be out before she's a senior citizen.
