Their meteorologist is saying there’s no accumulation yet people are posting on their Facebook page saying otherwise.

I've got a three foot change in elevation across the backyard. Or as we called it in BR, a double black diamond run.

“The left lane is blocked on I-12 West at Airline due to an accident. Congestion is minimal a this time.”

And so it begins.

commute is going to be fun this morning.

You're telling me. I realized driving home last night that while my ATs are snow rated, my camber is a little off. Enough so that on cold wet roads it pushes HARD into any curve.

If I make it around the first curve without sliding sideways into the trees I will count it as a christmas miracle.

And we typically do 2 trips a year driving to heavily snowed in areas to stay at B&Bs.

Last night (10pm weather), Shingleton finally admitted there may be some “winter precip” but went out of his way to say “no accumulation”. He could have at least said “looks like I missed this one and there may be some slight accumulation.”

The dude really is stubborn.

This dude Chris Franklin on WWL said basically the same thing. He said there will be no accumulation because the temp will stay above freezing. In my entire life I cannot remember a single time where it was below freezing when we had accumulations. 2008 we had 8-9 inches of snow and it never got below freezing. Where in the hell do they find these ppl.

In walker it looks like a heavy sleet snow combo that looks to be moving more towards snow the last 10 mins

Mostly rain, with periods of sleet/freezing rain in Abita Springs. Don’t know if the snow line will make it this far east

Switching over to all snow now. Thermostat shows 33 but dropping to 32 before 6.

Need to make decisions in next 30mins if I’m gonna drive from walker to college drive for work.

I'd be feeling excellent about your chances in Abita Springs. All reports have been of a heavish snow/sleet mixed band that transitions into snow. That's the line representing the last big cold punch to freeze the majority of the column.

Slaking off a bit in SEBR now but radar still pretty filled in for more to come in the coming hours.
