This thread has turned into lets bash the south for closing down for ice/snow and now approaching conspiracy about "salt" instead of an informative thread on threats and closures

This is why the OT is so entertaining

Whatever. You guys keep your sticky so that a few in baton rouge can say it snowed. While everyone else comes on here an complains about how this was overblown. Whatever floats everyone's boat. I am going to bed.

The cold air is going to be in place at least at the surface..thus the concern for ice. Its all about how much cold air overtakes the moisture to make sure everything from way up to the ground stays frozen for snow to fall. There is gonna be more than enough moisture in place especially after noon today. However, experts, computer models simply cannot accurately predict what layers of the precip is too warm, how much dry air digs in to suppress snow potential and how much lift is brought in by the disturbance. All we can do is wait for it to start happening. We all should know the drill by now: Some will get far more winter weather than forecasted and others will get next to nothing versus what they are being told now. We all know everything has to be perfectly timed and lined up for snow...will it, wont it, who knows!
