ETA: That site is full of sensationalist wishcasters. So you have to read through a lot of bullshite, especially that Dylan kid

shite, thats more like a 5 course meal at a fancy italian restaurant. that site is the shite.

eta: just cause you disagree with discussion of the weather doesn't mean its all sensationalist wishcasting. there are a few meteorologists that post there including the owner of the site. dylan is a met student and is actually experienced in this field.

If this pans out as predicted, this is precisely what this storm could seem like for some people. Ice creates power outages similar to its tropical counterpart. I wouldn't go crazy, but preparing for a few days without power isn't a bad idea. If it doesn't happen, the worst thing is you havesome extra food and supplies.

Its great for getting graphics and models, agreed. But most of them post what they want to happen not what the forecast calls for.

ETA: I lurk on there. Never post, just saying I take everything said there with a grain of salt. NDG and Sky actually post good information. The rest I read over

I guaranteed all my friends that there wouldn't be any hurricanes this season because I spent the money and put in a standby generator. I didn't however tell them here wouldn't be an ice storm. I guess I'm glad I spent the money for piece of mind.

i get it now.. i'm a little touchy on it cause i've been posting with those guys since it was the WWLTV weather forums back before katrina... they saved a lot of lives through the forums by getting the word out when local mets were scared to.

I think that was more coincidental than anything. It snowed in 08 and 2009 was a down year for the tropics.
