I'm more likely to shop there knowing this.

The Winn Dixie I had in Gulf Breeze was actually pretty nice. I didn't realize how well it was run until I went into the one in Navarre.

Like it or not, but concern over election integrity is mainstream despite what the media is spreading.

"Stop the Steal" is not a radical position to have. You may not agree with it, but mistrust in our electoral process is VERY common now. Probably more so than ever in my lifetime.

The newer Winn Dixies are nice.

The newer Rouses are even better. The one on Airline in Baton Rouge and the newer one off Juban in Denham Springs are both very good stores.

Rouses bought some LeBlanc's stores that people really liked. I'm not sure how that's going, because some of the Leblanc's stores were aging. LeBlanc's had only taken over that Drusilla store from Hi Nabor just a few years before it changed to a Rouses. Hi Nabor is a typical local grocery store - the prices are good, but there's nothing really fancy or special about it.

There was a new LeBlanc's in Prairieville and older ones in Zachary and Gonzales. I don't really shop at those, so I don't know how the Rouses transition went over there.

The Rouses in Zachary is pretty damn nice. The store is big and well stocked AND it is combined with an Ace Hardware. Same store, no wall dividing the two.

This may or may not affect my shopping habits.

What are Joe Albertson's political beliefs.

Why would I stop shopping at his store over his protesting? If he was part of the group that stormed the Capitol Building and caused destruction there, yes I would stop shopping at his store, but not for simply going to a protest.

That said, I only go to Rouse's once a year when I go to Ft Morgan.

I cannot imagine a better reason to frequent Rouses than this.

Damn. Sorry to hear that.

Which one do you go to? I do think that Rouses doesn't put as much effort into their older "acquired" stores as they do their new locations.

They had a spat years ago with Associated Grocers before they split off. I think they are sources from Supervalu now. Rouses was trying for years to break into the Baton Rouge market, and the dam sort of cracked when they bought LeBlanc's.

The Associated Grocers (based in Baton Rouge) stores are all independently owned, local chains. It's a co-op system. The stores vary widely in style and quality. Alexander's on Highland was pretty good last time I was there. Hi Nabor is an old Baton Rouge grocery chain that I think sources inventory from AG. Matherne's is another longstanding AG store, but they scaled back recently to only LSU and downtown. I thin Dorignac's is another AG sourced store. AG also serves a lot of old, tiny small town stores all over Mississippi and Louisiana.

Not sure who owns Audubon Market in St. Francisville or where they source their products from, but it's a very good store for such a small town.

That's cool. Looks a little rough from the outside, but Zachary is more than large enough to support a very good grocery store. I suspected that would be a solid grocery store.

these fake social media "boycotts" are just the worst. Most that claim they've lost their money never shopped or patronized the store/restaurant anyway. "oh they'll never get my money again!" Shut up Lamar, you go to WalMart every week anyway

Mostly its just public grand standing in hopes of getting someone fired for having the audacity to have a differing political opinion than their own. Its pathetic.

The changeover was still problematic because Rouse’s suppliers at first were far inferior to what the Zachary LeBlanc’s was stocking.

Granted, that was going from AG, which is local, to whatever distributor Rouse’s used which wasn’t used to operating so far outside of their normal footprint.

They source their groceries from AWG which has a large warehouse in Slidell. Not sure if SuperValu are in the same wheelhouse. They are also in the process of starting their own distribution and headquarters relocation to the Weatherford facilities in Schreiver. They also have started to roll out their own generic/private label products. Donny was elected last year to the AWG board of directors.

As they grow, they also can become a take over target for someone looking to enter the LA market especially once they get their own distribution network.

Just hopefully they don’t bomb out like Jitney Jungle/Delchamps. What is ironic about that statement is that some of their locations are in former bankrupt grocery stores.

I don't normally go to Rouses bc it's kinda out of the way but I'm now making it a point to get all of my groceries from there.

So do all of you morons know that papa Donald held a fundraiser for John Bell Edwards?

Now what are you supposed to? To shop there or not to shop there, that is the question.

Absolutely. Rouses has never given me any problems with not wearing a mask.
