This is true. My dad believes Joe Rogan is really selling all that crap on YouTube ads. One day is a flashlight. Next is a drone. But it's all AI. FOR some reason there are a ton of AI generated Rogan ads.

Right now you can't trust what you see or hear in electronic media. In future you msy not be able to trust what you see or hear in person.

I think you’ll start seeing people’s behavior shift where they start imitating AI interactions they observe. If that type of code switching takes place, AI will become indistinguishable.

All the olds on BoomerBook already fall for it. I’m sure the Nigerians will be using it to swindle money from them in no time if they aren’t already.

I think the fears over AI in terms of forgery are overblown. For centuries, contracts have been bound and considered valid with hand signatures. Those are super easy to forge, and yet society did not crumble due to the forgery problem. Even though the form of a signature is easy to forge, it’s actually pretty easy to tell if a document is fake due to broader context. Same with videos. Even if AI videos approach the quality of real videos, we will know what is real or fake by applying a bit of common sense. People already do this now. We will just apply more skepticism and scrutiny to recorded voices and videos to know if they are valid.

Singularity?
Turing test?

It’s not so much when we can’t distinguish what is real, it’s when they try to act dumb on our behalf.

Interesting thought- one of the reasons why we feel the authority to kill certain animals is because the gap in intellect, as demonstrating by not killing the smartest animals. This still applies even if you are a dominion bestowed theist.

at some point these machines will be as smart as we are compared to chickens, and maybe 10X. So they could treat us like chickens, but some argue that AI can only be as smart as us and only intentions they can have the ones we program.

I hope it gets so bad that people rebel against relying on devices and social media for anything..

It’s just going to mean you won’t be able to trust video and audio.

In a way, this may actually make privacy similar to how it was before cameras. If no video or audio can be trusted, then it’s as if video and audio don’t exist at all.
