I think technology has gotten to advanced for there to ever be another Bundy/Dahmer or Kaczynski even. Forensics coupled with cameras/cell phones everywhere lead to much more of a chance of getting caught. If Bundy or Dahmer were attempting what they did in today's time, no one would even know who they were outside of a small circle or nothing more than a 15 second news segment on the local station.

Depends what you are considering a true serial killer. Idk if there will be that person that kills here and there for years like in the past. A serial killer is someone who kills 3 or more i think, someone could easily kill a few people of a couple weeks and get away with it but eventually they'll get caught by technology.

I don't think the cops on First 48 could solve a murder without a cell phone and facebook.

A serial killer with no cell phone or social media presence would baffle the cops

Wasn't there one in Tampa just a year or two ago? I'm sure that's not the only one. It's just the one fresh in my memory.

Gonna be harder to do what the Green River killer did with social media in today's time.

There are currently 50-60 active serial killers likely in the US.
LINK

This is just my opinion, I think there is likely less than that just because its not unrealistic to think these numbers are exaggerated, but people will adapt to technology. With a little planning it really isn't hard to kill someone and get away with it.

In theory, someone who lives alone could put on shoes that are bigger than his normal size. Leave his phone at home. Travel by foot at night time to the other side of whatever town he is in.. Wear gloves. Go to someone's house he has been stalking out and knows they live alone or will be alone that day. Get into their house somehow.. Kill them.. Go back home.

If that person has no ties to the killer and the killer makes sure there is no evidence left behind, if he hides his face and anything else that could give investigators a lead..

Even if they are somehow able to suspect that person for some reason, if he lives alone and he says he was sleeping the night of the murder, there is no one to say otherwise.. And his phone stayed in the same location..

You don’t think the serial killers can’t use technology to their advantage?

And there is really a Santa Claus who lives at the North Pole and has elves build all those Christmas toys, Easter Bunny that delivers all that candy on a Sunday morning once a year and the Tooth Fairy who puts money under kids pillows in exchange for their rotted teeth.

On, and I have a line on some ocean front property real cheap in Arizona if you're interested.
