Oh, so they were dead wrong this weekend so they'll move onto the next disaster prediction. These weather people are so infuriating. A broken clock is correct twice a day, which is 50% better than they are on a daily basis.

It was so bad that Caparotta in Baton Rouge had to post an apology about how wrong he was. It’s crazy how bad weather prediction has gotten

Because they don’t do anything anymore.

They click a mouse and hit print.

When’s the last time a weather guy rolled his sleeves up to his elbows, took his shoes off, and waded into a pond?

Well I’ll give him credit for his apology. At least he admitted they missed it. But they didn’t just miss Saturday. They doomcasted Wednesday thru the weekend for all of last week. They also forecasted a cool front for this midweek which is no longer happening.
They should just quit forecasting beyond a couple of days. They aren’t very good at it.

Good thing there isn't much going on. A communications issue has taken out every Northern gulf radar east of NOLA. They've been down for going on a day and a half now.

I believe the broadcast Mets are falling victim to their new, shiny......and expensive......proprietary AI models. Corporate spent a boatload of money on it and I don't believe it is ready.

There are some other underlying issues that affect the NWS/NOAA moreso than the broadcast guys.

I cannot understand why it has gotten so bad even with all the advancements in AI and technology. I mean, the guys that had no technology back in the day, like Pat Shingleton & Nash Roberts, they were like, hardly ever wrong, even on hurricanes. They predicted better than these guys are doing now and they had nothing in the way of technology. These guys, especially channel 2 "the weather station???" in Baton Rouge, can't even hit the broad side of a barn with a prediction. They make people move high school football games around, they wreck people's tailgates because people don't show up thinking it's gonna be a flash flood.....or it is flash flood, like the first game of the year, and they don't even see it coming....I wish I could be this bad at my job and still stay employed.

I think they were more vague and gave a forecast with less hype and bated breath than today’s weather soothsayers. Today’s Mets think they can predict the winning lotto numbers with their AI forecast models, but they are still missing more than they are hitting.
