Will schools be extended into June/July?

You'd think that would be prudent to keep the proper number of teaching days as originally scheduled.
But, I'm sure some teachers will fight it, because they need those full 13 weeks off to prepare to do the exact same thing the next school year.

Spring Break helps and I’m thinking the closures probably shorten after a couple weeks realizing the, albeit proactive, overreaction.

It’s a national emergency, therefore, the missed days will not have to be made up. Sucks for some folks for sure. Especially the ones that can’t teach their kids 3rd grade math.

That brings up a good question. Louisiana schools are shut down for four weeks. Are they locked in to that or two weeks from now if things look good, can they say "Just kidding...come back starting tomorrow!"?

No. Read the gov's proclamation. The minutes required for completin have been waived by the gov. The board of education can come up with something new to override the gov. So no makeup time

Our county will still have spring break and will finish the school year on time. Not sure if that's a result of a waiver from the governor or if it's the fact they're doing online teaching during the closure. I'd assume it may be a combination of the two. This applies to University System of Georgia, as well.

During a state of emergency the days do not have to be made up.
I'm guessing that is why AL went ahead with the state of emergency today.

Both of my kids were sent home with next week’s school work. End of next week they will have online classes set up for the remainder of the closure. Looks like they will mainly be preparing for LEAP testing.

You would think they’d make it up but yeah I can absolutely see some absurd argument from teachers that they refuse.
