Depends on whether or not those filthy dagos learn to stay in their own neighborhoods and mind their betters in public. If this happens, I could see racism coming to an end.

Oh yeah, and send all the mics back to that potato-farm of a county of theirs.

There will always be some pockets of racism, but it's not nearly as bad as the media and some hawks would want you to think.
People make money and get attention off of keeping racism sensitivity high. It's sad really.

You really gonna play that card, Tyrone?
You have zero leg to stand on and you should just own it b/c I'm not going post-digging to bolster your labeling when the ENTIRE OT would list you as the most racist poster here(well Terd's back so some may acknowledge that).

There are way too many opportunities for the media and so called activists to keep racism alive and well for years to come....

No, not as long as anyone that brings up racial issues gets immediately labeled as a race-baiting POS. As has been clearly evidenced by many of the people in this thread, a large portion of the population is content to maintain the status quo. You can't make a change without acknowledging a problem exists in the first place.

The truth of the matter that nobody wants to admit is that it's man's natural state to have a preference towards those who are of his own kind. This is true of all races and thd biggest racial problem we face today is that people are too scared to face this truth.

This. And race is just one example of this.

I honestly think that 50 - 100 years from now, there won't be distinct races in the US...

I would bet a shitload of money that you would be wrong about that. Too bad I'd be dead before I could get paid. Lol at even suggesting 50 years.

Humans are tribal by nature. Who belongs to which group changes over time and even with the context of the situation, but there will always be an us vs. them mentality as long as humans are competing with each other over resources.

That being said, my grandparents generation (born in 1910-1920) were very ethnicist. They usually weren't too pleased with their children mingling with a different flavor of Euro-American. But enough of their kids did mingle that 2 generations later that nobody cared where anyone's great grand parents came from. The same is happening with race. There's enough intermingling that in another generation or 2 there will be as much caramel and grey as brown, black and white. It's easy to hate a faceless stereotype, it's hard to hate your favorite aunt/uncle/cousin.

But don't you worry, when we get over racism, we'll find new ways to divide ourselves up. I'm betting on Enhanced vs. "Natural" humans as the next big Us vs. Them tribal battle.

Unless all races become one, then no it won't, and even then, there will be types of xenophobia that still remain.

How do you propose we get rid of the Obamas, Holders, Jacksons, Sharptons, and Wrights?

Oh wait, that's right. Only white people can be racist. Shame on me.

ETA: By the way, did anybody catch the World Championship Game of the LLWS, where the entire friggin stadium of all races was cheering for the Jackie Robinson West Team and chanting "USA! USA! USA!"? That was a thing of beauty. I wish the media would have hyped that up like they did Ferguson, but of course it showed the country in a bright light. Cant do that now, can we.

Short answer is no. It is a "convenience" for certain groups of people.

No, it's human nature to pick out differences in people be it skin color, language, weight, religion, height, etc.
