The stews are becoming a go to band for me.

I like Zach Bryan. I said "in general terms."

This is ridiculous, we have access to more music than ever. YouTube, Spotify, and various other services allow people to listen to new bands.

You missed my entire point.

That's the spirit!
The problem is, I don't know if Rock will ever come back. Seems its all country, pop and hip/hop

You're arguing that most music coming out is corporate produced crap, and "where are the good bands?"
I pointed out that there are many, many different bands of talent out there and easily accessible.
I don't think I've listened to an actual radio station in years, mostly Spotify with some satellite radio in the wife's car because her Bluetooth sucks.

Probably not. Especially since AI music creators are signing million$ deals.
Though investing in small/med music venues could be a solid thing. Not saying it'll make you rich, but if done right the bills will get paid. People will always love making music, especially with friends, and people will still love listening to it, especially with friends. Retro nostalgia will always be a thing, especially with the youth.

With that said, if you have Spotify or Apple Music, you can listen to anything you want.
On rare occasions Spotify will insert a good band into whatever playlist I'm listening to.
This is how I discovered Title Fight, Le Tigre, CLIFFDIVER and others. There are some great bands making great music but, streaming sites don't make it easy to find them.

Who knows. This may be age related, but the idea of paying $150 +/- for a ticket to see a band that may or may not even have an original member in it seems like a dumb idea.
What I will do is, go see a cover group that's playing at a restaurant/beer joint, listen for a while, and then move on.
Getting my ear drums pounded by electronics until my eyes cross and feet begin to sweat is far down on my list of "gotta do."

You may be right. I'm too old for the likes of 21 pilots or whatever. And if I'm honest with myself--was the Foo Fighters ever really any good? Yeah they check the right boxes but did they ever offer anything as good as Nirvana? Or Guns and Roses?
You can thank me later

Most of the music now is corporate engineered crap

bullshite.
That's what everyone under a certain age claims and then when you listen to the bands they think are so profound you discover that it is completely derivative music. That Brian Eno or Peter Gabriel or some glam rock or post-punk band did the same thing 40 or 50 years ago, only they did it better back then.
Rock is done. It's an art form that has been exhausted. Nothing new under the sun and there hasn't been in a long, long time. At least since the mid 90s. That's when rock music started folding back on itself and recycling.

That Greta Van Fleet video is exactly what I'm talking about.
If they had come out in 1974 they would have been accused of being a poor man's Led Zeppelin ripoff band.
It's kind of nuts, really. It's like people listening to new bands in the 80s and thinking they were awesome when they were just imitating Bennie Goodman and Tommie Dorsey and Count Basie.

If only there was a service that allows you to listen to damn near every single band in the world
You have the option to explore more music than you can imagine without having to suck record company dick. Wake up sheep

Tribute cover bands are big now. Some actually go on tour.

This reminds me of when I started going to small shows in 1990 as alternative and grunge was coming in(ex Loppy). It made me feel like there was a renaissance happening, bands felt "touchable" and all those bands I saw such as Poison and Warrant were fake now. The truth was that those bands had been around in the 80s(Meat Puppets) but the eyes weren't on them.

Yeah, he can come play with this 3 piece band Saturday night! Wait, that was very Aggie of me. I digress.
