Supposedly?

Williams started every game in 1982 for the Oklahoma Sooners at right guard. He was named to the UPI All-Big Eight first team and played in the 1983 Fiesta Bowl. He was also a member of the Sooners 1980 Orange Bowl and 1981 Sun Bowl squads. Williams played both guard positions while at OU.

Went on to play DT & NG for Trump’s New Jersey Generals in the USFL where he was roommates with Herschel Walker.

You didn't realize how bad crime is in Alexandria?

In 2018 Ellick had a violent crime rate higher than BR or Nola. Think about that for a sec. More murders and violent crime than Lafayette, not per capita but actually more. Lafayette is almost 3 times the size.

Just a figure of speech. Trust me I know how bad it is here. I’ve lived in this shitbag city long enough.

Understood, no place is all one thing or another. It is disheartening to see a place you have found memories in turn out to be an absolute shitshow. Sometimes it's because things change and sometimes it's because your awareness changes but either way it can be really discouraging.

While this is true, it was traditionally confined to about an 8 block area around lower Third Street. The issue people have is that it is spreading. However, APD, an already small department, is down something like 45 officers. The trend isn't likely to change anytime soon, so prepare accordingly.

Alexandria needs jobs. It's a depressing place, but it's near some excellent recreational spots if you like the outdoors.

It just needs jobs to kind of refurbish what's there.

I don’t know any of those people. I really don’t care about their well-being.

This has generally been true (specific size does vary) everywhere, When left unchecked it always spreads eventually. I also believe the idea of "we have more serious crimes to deal with" is part of the problem. It breeds an attitude of "the police won't do anything, anyway".

Or maybe I'm just a crotchety old man

Ellik actually has mounted patrol….they just don’t utilize them for normal, weekend crowds.

I’m fairly certain they haven’t had a mounted patrol in several years
