It's better. Now she is still dealing with the psychological effects though. Meaning it has changed her outlook on some things and people that she didn't have before. I don't want to go in detail on that.

News stations already said there is nothing there for them. Remember we are in Baton Rouge. If she would have been knocked out and car gone with kids in it then that would have been a good story. But I promise you there would have been more to that story from me if that were the case.

We talked to a lawyer. There is no case worth pursing for the tape...even with a tree partially blocking their gas station pumps.

We have been trying to get the police to get the tapes. They will not help.

The police isn't going to do anything. If it involves them having to find a perp in order to do anything about it, if it doesn't involve someone seriously injured or dead they don't give a single frick.

You would think that if it happened, the owner would be notified that it has taken place at one of his/her businesses and they would be offering the police the opportunity to look at the video, but it always seems to be a big deal.

They could have planned on taking hers and the other customers pulling in spooked them....

Sorry this happened to your wife, man. I hope someone is willing to help you and these rats are caught.

If you don’t mind sharing, what’s the name of the Detective working the case? Understandable if you don’t want to give that out.

Racetrack is not going to voluntarily give you the tapes. They are worried about their own liability for an attack against a patron on their premises. Those tapes are something that would have to be subpoenaed to even have a chance of obtaining them, which probably means first filing a lawsuit.

I had to play at the same facility Sunday where my car was stolen several weeks ago. It was an odd experience and this time my gun stayed in my tennis bag.

You are 100% correct. Racetrac does not hand out footage to customers in situations like this or any situation that I know of. A lawsuit is the only way.

I only replied to a question. I didn't plan on bringing that back up without new "good" info.

I'm surprised he remembered the story that he made up a month ago. I have trouble remembering yesterday

That’s fair. I’m just curious about who is assigned to it

For your wife, she may also experience a delayed reaction.

I was robbed at gunpoint (twelve inches from my face) at one of the better Houston shopping centers. I was so thankful to have survived that I focused on that.

Four or five years later, in NOLA, my purse was snatched in front of a security man after the perp shoved me into the side of a building. (The security man said his job was to protect the entrance of the building and the cars parked in the company parking lot across the street and he had spoken to the perp, a dialog, just before I was robbed.) That crime brought me back to strong memories of the previous one (in Houston where the police gave a damn.)

It's not over for your wife, even though it seems to be.
