Did Smith work under Strain?

It appears Smith was with St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office from 1987-2010, when he became police chief of Slidell. Smith was elected St. Tammany Parish Sheriff in Nov. 2015.

That's some Third World shite right there.
I defame the STPSO almost daily. Lucky for me, they don't have anyone smart enough to manage the drive through Atlanta to come get me.

I don’t know what to make out of that latest article

Documents from the Sheriff's Office said that Montgomery shared privileged information with someone outside the agency on multiple occasions. "This person then in turn used that information to defame the investigation, (Sheriff's Office) personnel and the ... agency," according to a document concerning Montgomery's termination.
quote:
St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a federal law enforcement agent and accused him of defaming the Sheriff's Office by making false and derogatory statements that shook the confidence of the crime victim's family.
So he defamed them with their own privileged information?

Family of murdered Covington woman say they've lost faith in investigation
“The STPSO has said repeatedly they opened the investigation into the leak because one of Krentel’s family members contacted them with concerns about the emails.
None of the family members we spoke with said they reached out to the STPSO.
Krentel’s father, Dan Watson, said he heard the sheriff was concerned about a leak in the case when he heard about the defamation arrest on the news.
Kim Watson, the recipient of the emails, said the STPSO called her to let her know about the arrest shortly before it was made public.”

Ok, my first question if they above statements are true,
How did the sheriff's department get the emails between two private citizens?

This is my guess from the given information.
St tammany detective was working with the investigator.
Investigator is sharing info.
Word comes back around through friends and St tammany detective is like wtf how do you know this.
I dont know, just my guess.

Seems to me that someone high up in the stpso is running interference here.
When this whole thing went down and Sherrif smith let the fire chief off the hook, it seemed odd. Why? He was a prime suspect.
But Smith let him off. Bad move imo.
Now they find that the fire chief’s wife had a gunshot wound! Uh... better talk to the husband.
Smith needs to account for how this was all handled.

Has an alibi been established for the fire chief's little blonde side piece?
Posted on 9/27/19 at 6:50 pm to Hangit
This is crazy.
Ive watched enough Forensic Files, Datelines, 20/20 and 48 Hours to be 95% certain that whoever did this knew this woman or it was someone directed by someone that knew this woman.
Always start with the husband and if he had a sidepiece go there next.
Im shocked this case hasn't been solved.
Incredibly suspicious. Somebody knows something.

Not that I’ve heard, but I’m not very close to the grapevine.

Did they get a warrant to search his emails or did they have a warrant to search her emails? Which one was under investigation?
The article says that they have a warrant for her sister for trespassing, do they think her family was involved?

WWL-TV is doing a multipart series on the investigation. It started yesterday. Part 2 airs tonight. I'm attaching below a link the WWL article recapping Part 1.
From the article: "Bennett concluded Nanette’s death was a homicide for three main reasons: no soot in her airways, no blistering on the fire-exposed side of her torso and a lack of blood around the body." I've heard about the no soot. Those who still believe it was suicide speculate that she set the fire, then shot herself and was dead before the fire spread hence no inhaling smoke/soot. I had not heard about the two other factors (lack of blistering and lack of blood around the body).
