So far I'm extremely disappointed with sheriff Smith. He seems either inept or corrupt.
This is my take as well. I know the outgoing crew was corrupt, bit this guy not only seems corrupt, but inept too. I hope I'm wrong again, but at this point, I can't imagine voting for him again. Maybe he will change my mind in time. We will see

Just binge-watched a season of Cold Justice on Netflix, where two former prosecutors Kelly & Yolanda go from town to town helping local detectives solve decades old cold cases.
Made me think of this case, where there is a known prime suspect but local authorities don't feel there is enough evidence to make an arrest or there was a good ole boy cover-up that'll delay an arrest for 10-20 years.
One thing I've learned, even without a smoking gun, you can have a more powerful case with tons of circumstantial evidence than you can a case with DNA & no circumstantial evidence.

If there is not a cover-up, I guarantee you there are enough witnesses, neighbors, family, friends, co-workers, & ex-gf/wives/mistresses that could be interviewed that would provide enough testimony worthy of an indictment or elimination as a suspect.
There really is no gray area at this point. It's either a cover-up or just incompetent detective work.
Not a good look, St Tammany.

It's not a good look and the case needs to not be forgotten by the public . This thread needs to stay alive.

So the sheriff’s office (led by the man who already cleared Krentel) has subpoenaed the Fire Dept. records from Krentel’s disciplany hearing to see if any info might be helpful in solving Nanette’s murder.
Sheriff’s department still investigating Krentel

Marcos Esquandolas says, “We don’t care.”
Yet, Marcos, you care enough to reply.

From no need to investigate to this cursory investigation seems strange to me.

Who is "we", you phaggot?
Btw, the odds that anyone other than the husband did it seem pretty slim to anyone with a brain.
