Why do you put up with this? With your dad gone, aren't you the man of the house now? Your Beta-ness is certainly showing.

If she lived with your dad for 40 years she will always love him. That love will never go away. Since he has passed away she can move forward with her life if her heart is ready.
This is good for her, and I'm sure your dad loved her so much he would want her to find companionship so she would not be lonely.

And of course I don’t see my mother that often as I live in Stillwater, OK. She still lives in Louisiana.

Have to consider this and be thankful in ways. My mom is single at 72. I'll be back in my hometown at some point this year to look after her for the long haul. My siblings are not willing to so, well...

My parents were married for 47 years. About 1.5 years after my mother died, my father started seeing a lady. It was odd. My father actually died before it got serious, but it was odd.

However odd it was for me, assuming she wasn't after his money (he didn't really have any), I was glad he wasn't alone all the time.

Embrace it. Encourage it. Companionship is a good thing. I have an Aunt that’s husband died 25 years ago and it mine as well have been 6 months ago. No way to live. Gotta move forward and keep meaningful relationships.

My father in law started dating less than a year after his wife passed. i think it was part out of loneliness. he had been with someone for 42 years and then he was just alone with his grief.

i think its harder for older men to be by themselves - probably because that generation can't really fend for themselves in the house.

luckily he married a really nice lady that is great with the grandkids. i've heard horror stories from my brother in law on his new "stepmom".

That’s pretty much how I am. I’m happy for her, it’s just odd to me. The guy she is dating wife died a few years ago too.

its gonna be weird regardless you just have to hope she picks a good man and not a dick. if you actually like the guy then that's a win.

if she has any sort of intentions of passing any cash down to her kids or grandkids i'd try to get that worked out before anything serious happens. update the will.

Why are you such a pussy? Do you really think Fred would lie? Why would you say something like that to Salty?

You need help.
