"Why would I think you were having an affair if you weren't having one?"

My friend called me tonight. His wife accused him of having an affair. Her logic "Why would I think you were having an affair if you weren't having one." Even my wife said "WTF?" He said he'd get mad but she'd whisper and say "No, don't interrupt ... why would I investigate what you were doing if you weren't having an affair."
His wife is crazy as hell, as you might guess.
How the hell do you respond to something like that?
