My dad passed (Dad posted here about his glioblastoma)
Posted by lsu fan cw on 6/2/14 at 11:45 am
My father passed away a few weeks ago from a stroke. He suffered some, but his spirits were good until the end. We did not expect the stroke, and I really regret not having said a heartfelt last goodbye.
He had asked me to update here using his account if he passed. I really miss Dad so it took me a few weeks to get here, but getting here was important to him. I looked at your posts in response to his, and you were very kind to Dad. I can't tell you how much that is appreciated.
Dad loved LSU, particularly football. He told me how kind and supportive everyone was here and he appreciated the prayers and helpful medical suggestions.
I hope LSU has a great year because I know he'll be watching every game.
Thanks for being so kind to Dad. A tear came to my eye when I read your posts to him. I know that meant a lot to Dad that strangers expressed such kindness.
(I hope this doesn't violate some rule using his account but I will only use it this one time.)

All of your supportive comments brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much. I know I'm starting a battle and I'm ready.
This gave me a much needed break from dealing with doctors and family (the latter is the worst part).
Hopefully, my next post here will be a good report, a few months from now.
You are good people.

Thanks. Emotions high around here, nice to just be able to read a little bit about sports, post a couple of times, and chill out in my little office with the SDSU game in the background.
I've been diagnosed with glioblastoma

Thanks to my family members and some people here, I went to the doctor for my headaches. After going through a bunch of tests, I was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive brain tumor.
Prognosis isn't great, and I'm trying to figure out my treatment options. I'm not that scared of dying, but I am very scared about losing my mental capacity. I don't want to be around once my brain function is gone.
I have things to do other than go here, obviously, but I wanted to thank again those who said "go see the doctor." Cheer for LSU this fall, we have the best athletic teams and I think we will kick some butt this fall.
Nice to have a break from all the heavy family emotions. I think it is worse on them than on me.
Peace.

I do, but it is what it is and I'll know more on Tuesday. It could be pseudotumor cerebri which is easy to deal with. No point getting wound up until you know and at this point I have no control one way or the other.

A few days ago, I posted about my recurring headaches and some of you said "see the doc" so I did (and for the record I hate going to the doctor and rarely do, which wasn't wise).
Went in this morning. My doctor sends me to an ophthamologist who brings another in because my optic nerve is all blurred and "choked." Having head MRI Tuesday. Could be serious like a brain tumor, so I appreciate everyone's advice to get to the doctor.
If its all good, I'll report back. If not, I'll be taking care of stuff. My wife and sons are all freaked out, but I'm just staying cool hoping for the best.
Thanks again, and to hell with Harvard for screwing up my bracket.

Punk in Franklin sets his dog on fire

He is charged with arson (seriously, they need to get his sentence up) and cruelty to animals. I wish the article had said what happened to the dog.

We live in a sad world.
Though, my grandmother was left as a baby on someone's doorstep in a basket.
This is different. A five year old and her mother have a bond, or should have one.

Yea, I know it is not that NSFW, but I would hate to see someone get fired.
