Spinoff from the 16 reasons being child free is awesome thread.

I’m 26 and the SO and I have agreed not to start having kids until 32/33. Going to fully enjoy all my time while I’m young to travel and knock things off the bucket list before all my money goes to raising kids.

Plus, still having kids at home in your late 40’s and 50’s will keep you young.

Was 34 when we had our kid. Wish we would have had him when I was like 24.

too true. Of course I love my kids, but my daughter has been out of the house for two years and my son shipping off to LSU in August, and it'g gonna be nice and quiet and clean, and less stressful.

Yep and while we are enjoying life after the kids are out on their own, they will be having to do things. I'm definitely glad I didn't wait. I have friends that have kids under 10 in their late 40's and early 50's. They are not enjoying life as much as they thought they would...

so you'll be young enough to enjoy having your kids out of the house when they turn 18.

Think about this, someone who works in a plant making at least 70k/yr at age 20 has a kid at age 20. When that kid goes off to college, daddy is only 38. He can spend that plant baw cash traveling and having fun while he's still young enough to enjoy it.

On the flip side, Mr. college responsible cuck waits until age 32 to have a kid. When that kid finally goes off to college, he's already 50.

We didnt want to be 50 by the time the kids get out of the house. I'll be 44 when my youngest turns 18 and that's just alright with me. Young enough so when my wife eventually leaves my arse I'll still be able to hit some halfway decent tail.

This can't be understated.

I am 45 and my wife is 46. We are both at our peak earning years and my youngest in now a sophomore in college. It is awesome. I wouldn't do it any other way. The thought of being damn near 60 with an 18 year old makes me cringe....

Just asking, IDK. I'm not far from 40, and I'm starting to want them.

My wife doesn't, though. At all.

Just ask for a divorce now and find yourself a nice 28 year old to make a baby for you.

counterpoint

raise kids while you were going to be broke anyway and then enjoy your freedom when they are out the house and you have the resources to do life right

Having children ties you down both physically and economically. If you are waiting to have kids until your 30s that means your kids are on your dime well into your 50s.

It boils down to this:

Would you rather do fun independent things with your wife while in your 20s when you likely don't have much wealth built up.

or

Do fun independent things with your wife in your 40s when you actually have the means to do the things you want?

I consider it a "pro" of waiting till I was 35 that finances were never an issue, raising the kids was work enough!

My wife and I didn't have kids until well after 30. We got our party phase out of our systems. Some of her friends who had kids straight out of high school are still running around like they are in their 20s trying to catch up on the fun they "missed out on raising kids".
