The people in power aren't finished making sure they're the ones to get rich off of it.

like I said, if south LA wanted legal weed, north LA wouldn't be able to stop them
But without legislative support, it never goes to the ballot. Based on some of the rhetoric I've heard from those representing the northern part of the state, we're light years away from getting it to the ballot.

Oh, and we need to do a few studies first.

And we need to sort out which cronies will be tasked with conducting the very expensive taxpayer subsidized studies.

This is the main roadblock. Politicians in South Louisiana aren't truly invested in their city, they are invested in making sure the influx hits the right hands.

They are willing to forego a huge source of income because they cannot direct/manage/control it at this time.

I've been trying to handicap which southern states will legalize it first.

I kinda get the feeling Florida will be number one. Then maybe Texas. But 48, 49, and 50 will most certainly be a toss up between LA, Mississippi and Alabama.

I don't think La ha ballot measures...only constitutional amendments. Too bad. Red state voters seem to vote for things that the officials they elect would never touch.

How does one go about trying to get this on the ballot? I know Louisiana is going to do Louisiana things and lose all sorts of money while every other state does it though.
