He didn’t.
He bleached his skin.
And many AA’s were offended.

Because the majority of people in this country are not looking for something to be offended about.

What kind of standard is that ? Shouldn't the issue be if White people gave a shite about "white face" not AA's.

Michael Jackson had vitiligo. He did something to his skin to even out the color instead of having patchy spots all over.

He tried to appropriate white culture and had his privilege checked when privilege checking wasn’t cool.

If this bothers you then maybe you need a hobby or something to occupy your time.

I think the whole this is pretty dumb, but no, you've got it mixed up.

MJ wanted to be white. He changed his actual skin tone, therefore, some AAs were offended. That's different than dressing up as a white man and painting your face for a day, like black face. It also doesn't have the historical racist background.

That being said, it's a bit ridiculous in 2019 to be offended by it either way. Context matters.

Are people being dumb on purpose? Blackface has a history of racism. The act is not racist in itself. But it does indeed have a very strong history of racism. Back when black people were 2nd rate citizens in this country, we were ridiculed on stage, mocked, etc for no reason.

If it wasnt for this context, there would be nothing racist about simply darkening your skin. Because of the context, it remains a very inappropriate thing to do.

There is no such thing as whiteface. Quit trying to make that into a thing. Btw Mike had a skin disease, he didnt bleach his skin just for the heck of it.

Maybe because there was no context of racism that alluded to a very dark past in this country's life.
