Why was Covid such a big deal?

Commercials now have people with masks.. one way lines in stores.. social distancing.. concerts, festivals and events cancelled.. theme parks and attractions cancelled.. sporting events cancelled.. restaurants, bars and nightclubs closed
Has this been total bullshite or what?

Because with social media now, humans are aware of their own mortality more than ever now
When you say 180k deaths with an average age around 80, that is statistically nothing for us as society. In all times before social media, society wouldn’t have even noticed nor cared about this in any material way
But through this, we have got bombarded with personal stories from people across the social media sphere. Look at our own CharlesLsu, he has bombarded us with personal stories to try and sway as many opinions on this virus as he could. He gets angry at those that disagree because of his personal invlovlement. And that’s ok
Always, people personally effected by a virus feels it is a big deal, but that never swayed the opinion of society as a whole. But now, with social media where personal emotions can be shared so easily, those personal emotions have been able to sway societal opinion

You really have to be as blind as a bat to not see that the Dems have taken advantage of the virus and twisted it to fit their agenda of getting Trump out of office.
I’m not saying that the virus is a hoax. Cause I know it’s real. But the Left have gone doom and gloom to the extreme. Guaranteed that the freak out level from the left and MSM would be half what it is if this wasn’t an election year.
