My god it’s fricking ridiculous. I know a few girls who are in fb and Instagram and every fricking photo they post is a selfie.
Stupid and annoying as frick. What’s the thing about this? I get a few here and there but it’s every damn photo of them posted

It’s a form of narcissism... but there’s a subcategory that these girls qualify under. Can’t remember the name right now.

I think some aren't necessarily narcissistic and are legitimately seeking validation because for whatever reason their self esteem isn't great.
There is a woman I know here that is about 33 years old and I think is very attractive. She must post at least a selfie every other day and everyone always tells her how great she looks. She still has pretty low self esteem though.

Because slapdicks give them likes and validation and it triggers dopamine receptors in their brain just like a gambler at a slot machine getting a high when they get a payout.
Used to be the validation came from actual people in a physical proximity. Now the virtual version of it makes it orders of magnitude easier to get this pseudo-gratification.
They are addicted to it and will chase the high like a junkie to the spoon.
Social media has SERIOUSLY fricked up these kids heads.

No, but generally, I think a guy has to do something to impress and get that kind of validation. Make something, build something, create something.
Sure I guess there are some chiseled Adonis that get likes from drooling women like the teenage heartthrobs on Tiger Beat. But much more often in this life it is the accomplishments and performances that draw people in.
Most guys can’t get by solely on looks.
It’s just the nature of the beast. And social media has upheaved millennia of natural programming.

They and the obnoxious, shirtless gym guys are constantly looking for validation, because they have really have low self worth and lack healthy self confidence/esteem. A lot of those people really feel empty on the inside too.
If someone is truly happy with themselves they would only post those types of photos occasionally and not become obsessive about it.

There will always be someone younger and hotter, and because of that, women need as much validation as possible while they can get it.
