The answer is because they don't want to. Keep this handy for next SJW who has bought into idea that the world discourages women from entering tech even as more spots are made for them.

I just took a management course, and it went way overboard on proving women were better managers than men. It was embarrassing and a bit awkward.

Been in ITish most of my working life and it is just not a glamorous job.

When it comes down to coding, it really is a bunch of geeky men.

Now IT recruiting is dominated by female hotties. Only pharma reps has a better overall beauty.

Because their brain is a third the size of a man's brain, it's science.

I'm female (no pics) and a software developer.

I think a lot of the reasons why there aren't a lot of women in the field is because it's a different style of thinking, learning, and working. It's very different mindset.

I think about how all my friends have daughters and they are into dolls and playing house and teaching etc. My daughter is 8 and she wants to be a coder and is learning how to code. She watches YouTube videos on how to code. She's constantly wanting to learn more. Typically these are boy things to do because of how their brains work, in my opinion.

That being said, being in this field is amazing. I love being one of the few women in my group. I don't think I am looked down on. I think its quite opposite. Since there aren't a lot of females in the industry they respect me more.

Exactly. Real men like us acknowledge that women are beaten down with sticks and rape culture when they try to code.

False. Every person is made the same despite what your female brain is telling you.

Men typically think in absolutes.
It's on or off.
Here is one problem, here is one solution.

Women typically think in general terms, more gray areas, not necessarily want to do real problem solving.

However, like you, there are many exceptions.

I also equate this same line of work with the same mindset of CSI type work. ( Here is a problem or crime, find a solution or how the crime happened)
And, at least on TV, there are many women in this field.

Yes, exactly. I tell people my job is like a huge puzzle. You have all the pieces, you know what it is supposed to look like, but now you have to figure out how to piece it all together.
