You think thats bad, go look at brighhthouse.

my cousin, who lives in Cocoan beach, has it, and i checked their prices out, holy frick!! The low end wasnt so bad, but the high end cable speeds were outrageous. I thought i read $150? $200 for 200meg? I could be wrong, but the page he showed me was expensive.

I pay $59 for 150-200 meg on Charter(spectrum)

I dropped to 50 Mbps and only pay $54.99 total. This is tax and all other fees. This is with cox.

Because they can charge that much. Because there is no competition.

For those of you all complaining, how do you feel about government regulating this like they do a utility?

Deregulation isn't all it's cracked up to be

Here in Lafayette we also have LUS fiber optics and att uverse. I am starting to explore options today. I am disgusted with cox after all the time as a customer.

Because they have a regional monopoly in many neighborhoods around EBR.

No real competition like other municipalities in other states.

I cut the chord this week and dropped from 50 to 15 mbps. Bill dropped from $140 to $63.

I despise Cox as well, but they are the only ISP option I have. Hard to believe.

What does anything cost the price it does? Because people are willing to pay that price.

Do it. I had Cox internet Preferred for 77.99/month at 50 mpbs. Moved to a new house where LUS Fiber was available, switched and now pay 52.95/month for 60 mbps. It's a no brainer. Plus LUS customer service is way better.

I dropped cable this week too (went with Direct TV Now). I also have the $63 Internet tier. It's fast enough to stream so I'm good.

Not so much anymore. People do have other options. They have probably lost more business the past 3 or 4 years then they have in a long time due to Netflix, Fire Stick, etc etc..

The ONLY reason I keep Cox cable is because of the access to all of the sports channels. If I were not as big of a sports fan as I am, I would be good with just having the network stations, during college football season that would give me a CBS game a week (sometimes 2), three ABC games, I think two on Fox and ABC has the rights to all of Notre Dame's home games, but of course there are a lot of good games on ESPN, ESPN2, SEC Network and ESPN U. Then there is NBC sports, CBS sports then there are some NFL games during the season you can only watch on the NFL network..

During basketball season the only time there is basketball (college and NBA) on network stations is during the weekend, but if it wasn't for the sports channels I have access to with Cox, I would have no use for it.
