Well, since I have cargo shorts, why would I not use the cargo pockets. Also, when you're sitting down, on a mower, it's easier to dig something out of my cargo pocket than a front pocket. I don't wear skin tight clothing, but I also don't wear super baggy shorts. If you have a phone in your front pocket, it is tight when you sit down. I have an otter box case on my phone.

If I am going for comfort and not doing much around the house, I wear gym shorts. Otherwise, I am usually doing something that makes it convenient to have room for a bit of extra cargo. Typically I wear jeans and boots for major projects. I don't have a reason to wear shorts without cargo pockets, thus, the reason I don't own any. Any place that I would go that you would wear regular shorts, cargos are just as acceptable, otherwise, I dress better with some form of pants.
