Why should one vote for Or against St. George?

I hated going to school in ebrpss and private school people were stuck up where I should be offended.
But for real , I don't understand at George . What's the point? Wouldn't this hurt chs Parkview etc? Brmhs too ? I don't think your own city is feasible. Are y'all insane ?

It’s all about the schools down the road and having better local leadership to use the tax money to the areas that are being taxed. Lots of taxes are being spent from the St George area to city services and a general fund that don’t go back to the St George area. It’s as simple as that.

It's like this Boo.
Let's say some slutty girl that works as Disney wants you to buy her dinner. So you do, thinking you will get in her pants. But at the end of the night, she says bye and heads out.
Next week, same thing, she asks you to ask her to dinner, you go and pay, she rolls out right after.
She does this 7 or 8 times. Eventually, you get tired of buying her dinner and not getting in her pants.
You are St. George. City of BR is the slut. Dinner is the tax dollars. And the sex is good services and schools.

A couple of things:
1. Schools
--The EBR school system is abysmal. Many of the public schools here rank near the bottom of statewide lists while schools in almost every neighboring parish do far better. This is also why St. George came about in the first place (parents demanding better of the school board and system but being told to GFY).
2. Representation and taxation
--EBR parish runs on a city-parish government with the Mayor and council presiding over both. Far too much of the money collected outside the city limits (ie: the St George area) is going into projects within the city limits.
Disclaimer: I live outside of BR and outside the proposed St. George limits so I don't have a dog in this hunt.

Ultimately, the people of St George want their own independent school district. For them to send their own kids to, instead of having to pay for private school. They believe if they run their own school district, the schools will be acceptable to their residents.
The state has told them that if they want their own independent school district, they have to have their own city.
