Florida

Old retired people from the northeast love Florida. They talk about it like people of the Muslim faith speak of Mecca. I don't get it.

My neighbors just moved down from NYC to retire. It is expensive up there. I was looking at census data the other day, and the "south" as defined by the gov is up to 120 MM people. That is like 40% of the country. Amazing how the demographics are changing.

Yep and bringing their loud, rude, better than you asses to my area. Lots of new York and new Jersey people are buying houses in my neighborhood. The south has a few surprises that they didn't count on around here including snakes, wildlife, humidity, and alot of conservatives. Some already want to move back

I love how everyone here talks about the cold as if the heat of the south isn't just as bad.

It depends on personal preference. I probably know more people that prefer hot to cold. I'm in the middle. I wouldn't want to live in Minnesota but I definitely prefer NC, VA type weather to LAs

It's the northeast? The liberal epicenter of stupidity. Anyone with common sense doesn't want to be there.

Raising house prices and spreading liberal cancer across the country.

They didn't know there were a lot of snakes down here? I live in a neighborhood in the city and still see a bunch in my yard

I honestly would prefer the heat. The winters can definitely suck but they aren't the living nightmare people on here act like they are.

And when it's 78 and not humid here in July, it makes the cold months worth it.

MIT. Harvard. Yale. NYU. Penn. Columbia. Princeton. And on, and on, and on.

But yeah, probably no "common sense" in the northeast. Can't keep up with us LSU brainiacs.

I'm working up here now, have been on and off for the past month or so.
Many blue collar guys I talk with are leaving as soon as they retire and the younger ones are looking for a way out. Taxes are the main reason they give they are insane up here

I lived in Washington state for a bit and absolutely loved the weather. Cold for a few months and usually 75 during the summer. The house I rented didn't even have AC.

Where I live the snakes are numerous and not the good kind rattlesnakes, water moccasins, etc. my gf is the closing coordinator for a large home builder out here and several people have called her about the snakes out here. One lady from NY moved back her and her dog were bitten by a rattlesnake. They survived and were gone in a month. Last year's hurricane Matthew scared alot of people that just moved out here also.

I grew up in the country in South Louisiana so we had snakes everywhere around our property. I guess they just don't bother me much but I get that some people are terrified of them.

I'll own up to that one. I'd rather meet up with Connor McGreggor at Sonic than deal with a snake.

The Ivy League isn't what it used to be. It's experienced the same hollowing out you've seen elsewhere in higher education.
