My sister lives about a mile from downtown although I couldn't see her participating in any unrest. She is a leftist though.

None of the kids (students) are there. They're all home.
And the non students that would protest have been priced out of downtown. They did protest earlier today though I think but no morons doing dumb shite.

There was rioting, protesting and looting last night in Austin.
As a resident, I watched the live stream about 2 hours.
Protesters walked onto i-35 yesterday and shut down lanes NB & SB near 8th street.
They protested in front of APD headquarters until about 1 AM. They threw fireworks at police officers, and set a homeless guys mattress on fire.
Then the rioters started walking down 6th street and completely looted a black-owned business (a sneaker / urban clothing store) and then they looted a convenience / souvenir store.
