So what is it that keeps people from considering the Titan when truck shopping?

OT truck buyers buy on looks alone, or brand loyalty. They could care less about dependability, reliability or resale value.

At least with regard to the XD, it scores the lowest of any pickup ever tested by Consumer Reports. Dead last among all current models including the heavy duty’s.

Frankly I would stay with gas in any truck. The diesel advantages are not that great anymore. Fuel is higher, service is more costly and service life just isn't an issue anymore.

My mechanic literally just said this to me.

I haven't had any issues with my Titan. My buddy just passed 220k miles without any major issues.

The new Titans do look ugly, imo.

I think they have started to look kind of similar to the F-150.

I had one of the old Nissan Hardbodies, back in the day (an '88 standard 4 cylinder- my first new vehicle buy). Drove the hell out of it and couldn't wear it out....All Silverados and one Ram, since then.

If they could make these as durable as those little trucks, I'd consider one. But as others have said- I've seen mixed results.

My company has about 30 titans on the road. All doing over 80k/yr. Our maintenance expenses are half what they were with Ford, gm, and dodge.

Yeah it’s funny that I always read about Nissan resale and reliability issues yet we have two and have never had an issue

Altima is running at 209,000 miles strong

Weird. My neighbor had a Titan that would get hauled off on a flatbed from his house all the time. He hated that thing. I think Nissan bought it back.

He's got one of the loaded Rams now.

I know a lot of people with Frontiers that are happy with the reliability and durability of the trucks. I wish Nissan would update them instead of investing in the Titan.

That's awesome, man. Fleet records are a good reliability gauge, for sure. A relative has one, and loves it. I may give them a closer look, when it's time.....

Poor gas mileage. I get 20 mpg in my F150 and my max towing capacity is 11,500 lbs.

I passed a F150 this morning so it was lower than 18...

And tbh, there’s something about “Nissan” that is unappealing to me.

I don't think a lot of white people drive Nissans. Is that what you mean?
